And yet Sensenbrenner said this about accusations that the Bush Administration was censoring scientists for political reasons:

“[T]he Administration is allegedly curbing Federal scientists from presenting scientific findings that are at odds with its policies. Before we start screaming “McCarthyism,” we should examine how little merit these accusations actually have.”

Somehow the two quotes don’t really square with each other, except that they’re both politically convenient on Sensenbrenner’s part.

Well you should know they’ve been trying to link “Climate change deniers” to Holocaust deniers for YEARS. They even considered passing laws against saying AGW was a hoax.

As for your post, I found this to be a trenchant observation:
