Ken Ward, Jr., an environmental journalist at The Charleston (W.V.) Gazette, is using Twitter as a new channel to inform citizens what his sources have to say for themselves. According to this post at Poynter by Amy Gahran, coal executives, among others, have started tweeting their propaganda, and Ward is re-tweeting what they have to say.

Take this Tweet from Don Blanekenship of Massey Energy: “Only pompous pols could think of such a bill,” referring to the climate and energy legislation that has passed the House and is now being considered in the Senate. But Ward hasn’t stopped there. He’s using Twitter to ask these execs tough questions. Surprise, surprise: They are not very quick to engage…
